This medical college, which was launched on September 1, 2013, by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, is the state's sixth government medical institution. The college aspires to be a medical college in the country that gives medical credentials to the public and obtains and applies new medical knowledge; to provide the best quality care, multidisciplinary treatment, and care to improve the health of working people. The National Medical Committee has approved this medical college, which is connected with Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur (NMC).

Admission Eligibility:

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). It is also mandatory for students to take the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) .

Admission Eligibility:

A student seeking admission to a post-graduate programme must have earned an MBBS from a recognised university. Then, as per Section 10 (D) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single admission test to various MD/MS Courses.

This Government Medical College is situated in the heart of the city of Manjeri in Malappuram District, Kerala. The campus of the college is spreads over an area of several acres, surrounded by the lush greenery. Central Library built within an area of ​​1740 sq.m. There are two types of reading rooms available in the Library. In the classroom, where library books are kept, staff and students are not allowed to bring their own books, they can only read library books called stack room. In some so-called study rooms, they may also add their own textbooks.

About Hospital

GMC Managers has five teaching halls, four of which are Medical Colleges and one of which is a Hospital. 120 students can be accommodated in Medical College halls, and 150 students can be accommodated in hospital theatres. All of these rooms have audio and video equipment, including a microphone, LCD projector, and overhead projector. There is only one Examination Hall with a capacity of 250 people. With CCTV and movable jammers, the hall is properly ventilated.

The campus hospital contains 470 beds, which include day beds and other viewing beds. The staff room is prepared to handle both regular and potentially risky pregnancies. Outpatient treatment is available to 2769 patients at the facility. GMC Hospital has eight operating rooms, divided into six major and two minor surgeries.


GMC Hospital offers various departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics / Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, TB & Respiratory Medicine, Orthopedics, Dentistry and Dermatology. GMCMH has some clinical Laboratories. These are Biochemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Hematology, Clinical pathology, Histopathology and Cytopathology. The hospital offers a full range of blood tests, X-rays, ultrasound, ECG, Barium, IVP etc. and CT scan.

Health Care Services: - Medical services range from simple cold, virus, and minor injury treatment at less complete institutions to comprehensive lab tests, X-rays, specialists, and pharmacies at the most comprehensive centers. Counseling services are available in many campus health Programmed.

Counselling Service: - The 'Counseling Service' is for persons who are experiencing emotional or behavioural issues. or addiction, or certain health concerns such as HIV/AIDS, but the fact is that people of all types seek Counselling, and this does not imply that they are "crazy" or "weak."

Hostel: - Students may arrive two days ahead to the commencement of the academic semester and must exit Residential rooms within two days of the completion of regular exams. Rooms have a bed, a table, a chair, and almirahs. Mess with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

Report: - A student must offer a narrative of an event or report facts from a book, article, or other source in a college report. While some research may be required when writing a report, it is mostly a document that asks you to understand rather than obtain the data on which you report.
