Late His Holiness Shri Kumaraswamiji of Hanagal convened the first Veerashaiva Mahasabhe, which led to the formation of the Veerashaiva Vidya Vardhaka Sangha in Karnataka, and the campus's Hospital is named after him. When Shri S. Nijalingappa was the Chief Minister of Karnataka, he provided 250 acres of land on lease for a term of 30 years, which was afterwards regularised and granted by Late Shri J. H. Patel when he was the Chief Minister. The late Dr. S. J. Nagalotimath, a worldwide B.C. Roy awardee, was selected as the first medical director and charged with designing and building the medical college. The college and hospital announce the message of excellent health care and health services. “PROFESSIONAL HEALTH CARE TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY” at affordable cost which is its motto. The hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as CT scan, MRI, color doppler, TMT, dialysis, Echocardiography, Lithotripsy, Endoscopy, Ultrasonography, Laparoscopy, Lasers, Fundal camera, EEG, NICU equipment, EMG, audiometry, 14 hitech.
