Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Ongole

which was founded in 2011, is one of the greatest medical institutes in the country. Segment 38 of the Government of Andhra Pradesh Medical and Dental Institutions was supposed to kick off the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Ongole project. Edges Ongole was established by Act No.31, which allowed for the sanctioning of a new Government Medical College and Hospital in Ongole at a cost of Rs.25 crores. In addition, consent was obtained for Rs.125 crores for the establishment of a new Medical College and Hospital in Ongole, Prakasam District. The Medical Council of India has recognized Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Science, which is associated with NTR University of Health Science in Vijayawada (MCI).

Admission Eligibility:

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as physics and chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). Qualifying for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination is also required of students (NEET) .

Admission Eligibility:

Infrastructure:

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences College campus is 38 acres in size and has a total constructed space of about 8,60,000 square metres. The College buildings cover over 3, 28,000 square metres, with distinct Hostel and residential blocks, while the Hospital structures, including the OPD complex, cover over 5, 20,000 square metres. Prakasam District is home to this Government Medical College. This Medical College is equipped with all of the necessary structures as mandated by the MCI. Laboratories, a skill lab, a library, demo rooms, common rooms, a museum, a canteen, and lodging facilities are all available at this medical institution.

Lecture Hall:

This institution has one examination hall with a seating capacity of 250 students and a floor size of 250 square metres. In the college building, there are four lecture halls. Three have a sitting capacity of 120 people apiece, while one has a seating capacity of 250 people. One lecture hall with 150 seats and other amenities is placed in the hospital building. These are gallery-style built-ins with audio and video capabilities. Separate common rooms with a total space of 250 sq. m and linked restroom facilities are offered for both boys and females students.

Library:

The Central Library of the Government Medical Institute is 800 square metres in size. This library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. It has separate reading rooms, stack rooms, and staff rooms. There are two reading rooms, one inside and one outside, each having a seating capacity of 100 pupils. Staff can use separate reading rooms with a seating capacity of 50 people.
There are 7,816 volumes in this library, as well as 109 Indian and 56 international journals. This college's Digital Library offers 12 PCs and all of the necessary amenities. A central photographic department with all sorts of equipment and staff facilities is provided.

Hostel:

The separate Hostel and residential complex for boys and girls at Rajiv Gandhi Government Medical College was developed over more than 1,20,000 square metres on the college grounds. Each of the 126 rooms at the Boys & Girls Hostel includes a comfortable bedding arrangement, good water amenities, and toilet facilities. Each Hostel building has a well-equipped Canteen with sanitary cuisine and spacious dining areas.
There is a separate PG hostel and Interns Hostel with 160 rooms accessible, as well as a separate Nurses Hostel with 36 rooms. There are additional residential facilities for teaching and non-teaching workers on this site. About Hospital:

The Teaching Hospital of Rajiv Gandhi Medical College is RIMS General Hospital, which has 500 beds and covers an area of almost 4, 00,000 square metres. More than 1000 outpatients come here every day, and inpatient treatment takes up 70% of the beds. This hospital has the most up-to-date treatment facilities and offers multi-treatment therapy. The RIMS Hospital beds and operating rooms are apportioned among the various medical departments, and the laboratories do 1000 tests every day.

Bed Distribution & Other Facilities:

Each department of general medicine and surgery has 120 beds. There are more than 60 beds in Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology. TB and respiratory treatments, as well as psychiatry, each contain 40. There are 50 beds in ENT, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology. This hospital's major clinical laboratory is managed by the Pathology department; however additional sections such as Microbiology, Hematology, and Biochemistry are also accessible.

This hospital has 13 operation theatres, 11 of which are for major operations and two for minor operations. Counselling Service: - The 'Counselling Service' is for persons who are experiencing emotional or behavioural issues. Or addiction, or certain health concerns such as HIV/AIDS, but the fact is that people of all types seek Counselling, and this does not imply that they are "crazy" or "weak."

Hostel: - Students may arrive two days ahead to the commencement of the academic semester and must exit Residential rooms within two days of the completion of regular exams. Rooms have a bed, a table, a chair, and almirahs. Mess with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

Report: - A student must offer a narrative of an event or report facts from a book, article, or other source in a college report. While some research may be required when writing a report, it is mostly a document that asks you to understand rather than obtain the data on which you report.

Ongole's Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is 4.1 kilometres from the city centre. Ongole is located in the Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh, India. The city is connected to main destinations and the highway network via road, which also runs through it. The APSRTC Bus stand is 4 kilometres from the campus and provides frequent transportation. Another Addanki Bus stand is the closest to the campus, at a distance of 3 km and travel duration of 15 minutes via Trunk Road.
