PSG Institute of Medical Sciences, Coimbatore

was founded in 1985 and is a famous medical institution. The College now has around 5200 students and 11 engineering and technology departments, as well as computer programmes, management science, fundamental science, and humanities departments. The National AICTE Accreditation Board authorised a total of 18 programmes from the college's different Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in 1997. The knowledge of more than 15 instructors who tour well-known universities and enterprises has considerably benefitted departments. The National Medical Committee has authorised this medical college, which is associated with the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai (NMC).

Admission Eligibility:

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). It is also mandatory for students to take the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) .

Course Design:

The PSG Institute of Medical Sciences is supervised by lecturers that are highly trained and experienced. In the undergraduate and graduate programmes, the college provides a variety of options.

Admission Eligibility:

A student seeking admission to a post-graduate programme must have earned an MBBS from a recognised university. Then, as per Section 10 (D) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single admission test to various MD/MS Courses.

The site features a 1410-bed associated hospital that provides tertiary treatment. PSG Hospitals is an HITECH speciality hospital that provides complete medical treatment from first grade to advanced, with a strong foundation of academics and community service groups. It also serves as a teaching hospital for undergraduate and graduate students studying medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy. The 21-bed Intensive Treatment Unit has a specific component that provides round-the-clock comprehensive and continuous care for patients.

Hostel: - Students may arrive two days ahead to the commencement of the academic semester and must exit Residential rooms within two days of the completion of regular exams. Rooms have a bed, a table, a chair, and almirahs. Mess with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
