Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad

is a prestigious medical college that was founded in 1984. This medical college was India's first to focus on community-based medical education, research, and health care, as well as to act as a community-based centre. The institution's mission is to prepare competent and compassionate professionals with sound knowledge and excellent skill through quality education based on a competency model that instils scientific temper, moral and ethical values, and to emerge as a centre of excellence through an interdisciplinary, innovative, and quality-centric approach that encompasses best evidence-based higher education, generates regulative and translational research, and offers affluent housing options. This college is deemed to be university and is approved by the National Medical Committee (NMC). 

 

Admission Eligibility:

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). It is also mandatory for students to take the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) .

Admission Eligibility:

A student seeking admission to a post-graduate programme must have earned an MBBS from a recognised university. Then, as per Section 10 (D) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single admission test to various MD/MS Courses.

About Hospital:

The campus's hospital is a 1125-bed multispecialty tertiary care facility including critical care, endoscopic surgery, dialysis, cardiology, cardio-vascular-thoracic surgery, oncology, urology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and a renowned renal transplant unit. It has fully equipped major and minor operating theatres, labour rooms, a NABH-accredited blood bank, radiodiagnosis and radiotherapy, computerised medical records, and counselling services, among other things. Medical, Surgical, Coronary Care, Pediatric, Neonatal (recognised by the Neonatology Forum of India), Respiratory, and Obstetrics are among the critical care units. The Neonatology Forum of India has acknowledged the neonatal ICU. MRI, colour Doppler, mammography, DSA, and other radiology procedures are available in the radiology department. It also actively participates in national healthcare programs and various extensions and outreach community programs initiated by the Institute.

Anti- Ragging: - Any disorderly behavior, whether via words said or written, or by an act, that has the effect of taunting, treating, or dealing a fresher or junior student with rudeness.

Health Care Services: - Medical services range from simple cold, virus, and minor injury treatment at less complete institutions to comprehensive lab tests, X-rays, specialists, and pharmacies at the most comprehensive centers. Counseling services are available in many campus health Programmed.

Counselling Service: - The 'Counseling Service' is for persons who are experiencing emotional or behavioural issues. or addiction, or certain health concerns such as HIV/AIDS, but the fact is that people of all types seek Counselling, and this does not imply that they are "crazy" or "weak."

Hostel: - Students may arrive two days ahead to the commencement of the academic semester and must exit Residential rooms within two days of the completion of regular exams. Rooms have a bed, a table, a chair, and almirahs. Mess with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

Report: - A student must offer a narrative of an event or report facts from a book, article, or other source in a college report. While some research may be required when writing a report, it is mostly a document that asks you to understand rather than obtain the data on which you report.
