Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore

is a famous medical institution connected with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was founded in 1980 by the Vokkaligara Sangha. This medical college aspires to provide training to medical students in order for them to be competent in the management of individual and community health problems, commensurate with their position as members of society, and familiarise with national health programmes, as well as to provide an insightful educational experience that prepares students for careers in medicine through excellence in teaching, patient care, and research, and to produce physicians with a sense of responsibility. Admission Eligibility:

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). It is also mandatory for students to take the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) .

Infrastructure:

It has audio and video services, CCTV, and a computer with online resources. There are only a few multi-seat lecture halls available. The Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences has an Administrative Block with well-ventilated class rooms, modernised lecture halls, equipped examination halls, demonstration halls, and dissection halls, as well as transportation for students and staff. In addition, the College provides a Canteen for students' use. There are two separate hostels at present, one for the boys and another for the girls. The boys and girls hostels are located in the Institute campus at Banashankari and can accommodate about 200 students each. Hostel: - Students may arrive two days ahead to the commencement of the academic semester and must exit Residential rooms within two days of the completion of regular exams. Rooms have a bed, a table, a chair, and almirahs. Mess with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
