Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences, Port Blair

is a reputed government institute, established back in the year 2015. The main objective of the Institute is to provide quality medical education, health care and research in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The only Medical College in the region is committed to developing a health care system for the islanders. A high-level committee was established under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General, A&N Administration, after which it was recommended that a Medical and Engineering College be established in Port Blair. All attempts to construct a medical college in Port Blair continued, and the consulting firm HSCC was recruited by O / o DHS to establish a medical college in Port Blair, proposing a public-private partnership model. ANIIMS, a higher education institution in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, aspires to a career in medical teaching and health care delivery. ANIIMS is dedicated to offering the finest level of care and medical care to anybody seeking ANIIMS medical treatment. We endeavor to provide comprehensive and high-quality tertiary care services to everybody, especially the poor and needy, in accordance with our goal. The Medical Council of India has recognized the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences, which is associated with Pondicherry University (MCI).

Admission Eligibility

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as physics and chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). Qualifying for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination is also required of students (NEET) .

Infrastructure:

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences is located in the beautiful city of Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This Medical Campus is set in a beautiful green eco-friendly environment that spans 104 acres. The campus has all of the required facilities, such as sophisticated labs and clinical departments. The institution also has a dormitory on campus that provides enough care for students and feels like a home away from home. General Medicine, library, sports complex, labs, Auditorium, and many more facilities are available on campus to meet the needs and requirements of students. It offers a variety of services such as data input, power, and OPAC-related access to its broader collection. The student provides a nice living area as well as a separate study room for the staff inside the classroom. It also contains computers with internet access, as well as audio equipment, a projector, an LCD projector, a slide projector, and a microphone in the lecture rooms of the state medical college Nagpur. Officially, all teaching halls are shared by all departments.

Hospital Facilities:

This medical college's hospital is equipped with more than 300 beds. The hospital building's outpatient department, medical department wards, emergency department, operation theatres, central laboratory, blood bank, pharmacy, and canteen, among other things, were all under construction. Within the hospital facility, there are night and day ambulances, pharmacy, and blood bank services, and an average of 600+ patients receive OPD care each day.

Student Support:

Anti- Ragging: - Any disorderly behaviour, whether via words said or written, or by an act, that has the effect of taunting, treating, or dealing a fresher or junior student with rudeness.

Health Care Services: - Medical services range from simple cold, virus, and minor injury treatment at less complete institutions to comprehensive lab tests, X-rays, specialists, and pharmacies at the most comprehensive centers. Counseling services are available in many campus health Programmes.

Counselling Service: - The 'Counselling Service' is for persons who are experiencing emotional or behavioural issues. or addiction, or certain health concerns such as HIV/AIDS, but the fact is that people of all types seek Counselling, and this does not imply that they are "crazy" or "weak."

Hostel: - Students may arrive two days ahead to the commencement of the academic semester and must exit Residential rooms within two days of the completion of regular exams. Rooms have a bed, a table, a chair, and almirahs. Mess with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

Report: - A student must offer a narrative of an event or report facts from a book, article, or other source in a college report. While some research may be required when writing a report, it is mostly a document that asks you to understand rather than obtain the data on which you report.
